John S. Marchewka, C.G., P.G. President of MAI Environmental Services has over 20 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting field. Throughout his career, John has provided a wide range of environmental, geologic, and compliance permitting services to the private and public sector, including: environmental assessments, Brown fields, water supply exploration and development, oil and hazardous waste investigations and remediation, landfill hydro geological investigations and monitoring, project planning and cost estimating, environmental compliance permitting, and Federal and State grant writing and implementation. Through strong technical and managerial skills, John has developed strong and lasting working relationships with MAI’s clients and State and Federal regulatory officials. John is a State of Maine and New Hampshire Certified Geologist, and a Licensed Maine Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator. He is also OSHA 40 hour certified for Hazardous Waste Operations in accordance with OSHA 1910.120. |

Paul D. Prescott

Paul Prescott, Vice President of MAI Environmental Services has over 14 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting field. Through strong technical and managerial skills, Paul has developed a reputation of providing valuable environmental expertise to clients from the private and public sector. Paul provides a wide range services which include: oversight, management and performance of petroleum/hazardous waste soil and groundwater investigations, impacted site cleanup activities pursuant to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) Voluntary Response Action Program (VRAP), landfill hydrogeological investigations, landfill assessment and compliance monitoring/reporting programs, Phase One and Phase Two environmental assessments, and water supply exploration and development. Paul has managed the installation of and provided long term monitoring for groundwater recovery and soil vapor extraction remediation systems and he is also OSHA 40 hour certified for Hazardous Waste Operations in accordance with OSHA 1910.120

Donald C. McFadden, C.G.

Donald C. McFadden, C.G., Principal with MAI Environmental Services has over 11 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting Field. Dons areas of expertise include: environmental site assessment; stormwater pollution prevention; remedial investigations of residential commercial, and industrial petroleum releases; hydrogeologic studies relating to aquifer protection; nitrate impact assessments; water supply development; and landfill investigation. Don is responsible for soil and groundwater contamination investigations, hydrogeologic evaluations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and stormwater management under the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP). Don has managed site assessments for large national property management corporations and has performed and supervised the preparation of site assessment summaries with recommendations for remedial actions and is highly experienced with petroleum-impacted site cleanup activities pursuant to the MEDEP Voluntary Response Action Program (VRAP). Don is OSHA 40 hour certified for Hazardous Waste Operations in accordance with OSHA 1910.120

Edward I. Johnston

Edward “Ted” Johnston provides legislative, regulatory and strategic planning services for clients throughout Maine. He has extensive experience in advocacy, government affairs, public relations and regulatory representation. He has represented clients before state regulatory bodies on a wide array or issues including coastal resource management, forest practices, and land use regulations. Ted Johnston is recognized as one of the state’s premier experts regarding state environmental regulation of non-metallic mineral mining (gravel pits and quarries). Over the past 14 year, Ted has helped dozens of Maine aggregate producers with quarry and pit registration, variances for excavation into groundwater, reclamation plans, stormwater management, and Site Location of Development Licenses and air emission licenses including visual opacity testing for rock crushers. Ted’s involvement in government affairs and regulatory advocacy at the federal and state level spans 3 decades He’s worked for the U.S. Senate and has lobbied before the Maine Legislature on natural resource management, land use regulation, fire protection services, public education funding, energy production, transportation, and workers compensation issues. He has served on a number of State Boards and Commissions. |

Seth Brown
Environmental Technician

Seth Brown serves as MAI’s Environmental Technician and is responsible for operation of MAI’s in-house Geoprobe™ drilling equipment. Seth is experienced with soil borings and monitoring well installations, field sampling and testing, and groundwater monitoring. Seth has positively contributed to a number of important projects involving landfill monitoring, Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Geoprobe drilling operations, and data compilation. Seth attended the University of Vermont in the field of Natural Resources and has completed additional Environmental training with the New York State Department of Fish and Wildlife. Seth is OSHA 40 hour certified for Hazardous Waste Operations in accordance with OSHA 1910.120
